I know, I know, "Sherri isn't Black!"

In any case, as per word I got Saturday morning from Jim Ross' blog, the one known as "Sensational" Sherri Martel has passed away at the age of 49.

You have to respect the dead... plus, homegirl WAS an honorary "sista" with the Harlem Heat. And she was the truth - whether as a manager or as a wrestler, she always PUT IT DOWN!

I think some of my favorite memories were her with Randy Savage, when he was the "Macho King", going buckwild on whomever she had to to ensure her man won (which she was great at - she did the same with HBK). Hell, just recently on WWE 24/7, they had her featured in the "Legends" category, with a boatload of her old matches (she used to whup on Rockin' Robin's ass!) and the crazy Hall of Fame acceptance speech, where she looked drunk and lovin' it!

In any case, she is one of the greats in managerial and wrestling categories, and will be sorely missed by an 80s Wrestling baby like myself.

RIP, Sherri.
