RIP Luna Vachon
Luna Vachon, who spent mad years in many feds as both valet and wrestler, passed away at the age of 47. She was found dead at her mother's house, where she had been living due to a recent house fire.I was just listening to a shoot with Raven and Kevin Sullivan where Sullivan was speaking about Luna's early years. I remember her fondly when she was paired with and Bam Bam Bigelow, then later Goldust in the WWF/E. She was tough as shit and played her part to a T. Rest in peace, Luna.

Jake Roberts Announces His Retirement
Via Wrestleview:
Jake "The Snake" Roberts announced his retirement from pro wrestling this past Saturday at a 2CW event in Watertown, NY reports PWInsider. Roberts defeated Zachary Springate and announced his retirement after the match. He said while he still loves pro wrestling, he can't do it physically anymore and this would be his final match. While the words "retirement" and "wrestling" never seem to go together very much, almost everyone at the event believed it was a legitimate decision by Roberts. Roberts had announced earlier in the year that he planned to retire in 2010.

WWE Releases Serena?!
Via Wrestleview:PWinsider.com is reporting that WWE has released Serena.
Update (12:12 a.m. ET): The release was reportedly made several days ago and word is just starting to get out about it. Still no confirmation yet on WWE.com as of this evening.
What the fuck? Didn't she just get her in-ring debut on Smackdown this past Friday!? I imagine they will announce this on WWE.com either Friday night or over the weekend. I wonder what the deal is - from what I understand, homegirl was a great worker in the indies and the FCW, and I was always surprised why she was never used in-ring during her SES run. Plus, she was fly with the bald hair. Hopefully we get more news on this soon...
UPDATE [via Wrestling Inc.]...
Serena's sudden release from World Wrestling Entertainment is being compared to Mickie James' dismissal from the organization earlier this year as both involved matters concerning behavioral problems on the road.
Serena had been warned several times by management to tighten up her road behavior as she was putting her job at risk. It ultimately reached a point where WWE had no choice but to let her go, just as a big push was planned no less.
It is said that the episode of WWE SmackDown! in which Serena was caught drinking alcohol at a bar was designed to send a message to her. An irate CM Punk immediately chastised her following the airing of the video, but she was forgiven the following week. Luke Gallows, however, refused to follow suit and walked out on his fellow Straight Edge Society members.
News of her departure from WWE is being kept under wraps internally, but an announcement is expected to be made this weekend after WWE SmackDown! airs on Friday. The show was taped last Wednesday in California.
Had a feeling some form of her not kayfabing when off TV might be the issue...

Dark Journey aka Linda Newton is credited for being the first African-American female manager in pro wrestling. Discovered by Dirty Dick Slater in a strip club, Dark Journey was a valet for the legendary Four Horsemen for a month. She left the rasslin' business in 1987 and since her whereabouts have been sketchy. Rumors range from Linda having major drug problems and being possibly murdered to her owning a boutique in Los Angeles. So Linda if you are out there, holla at us.. You and Perry Saturn.

RIP Lance Cade
Word from Wrestleview is that Lance Cade, a former WWE superstar who got a lot of shine during his partnership with Trevor Murdoch, has passed away at the age of 29, due to apparent heart failure. There was speculation at the time of his release a year or so ago, but who knows what kinda of activities he was into. Many superstars paid their respects to Lance via twitter today. NoDQ had an interesting tweet earlier...For those of you that are superstitious, Lance Cade and Test both died on a Friday the 13th.less than a minute ago via web
